『女性ソフト・ロック、またはウィスパー系女性シンガー・ソングライターとして評価の高いマーゴ・ガーヤン唯一のアルバム(68年)。スパンキー＆アワー・ギャングでヒットした「サンディ・モーニング」や、クロディーヌ・ロンジェがカヴァーした「シンク・オブ・レイン」が有名だが、とろけそうに甘いウィスパー・ヴォイスにロリータ趣味の輩は一発でダウンだろう。バッハのコーラルを引用した曲やジョン・サイモンがプロデュースした曲も限りなくドリーミー。ボーナス・トラック4曲追加。』

『スパンキー＆アワ・ギャングやオリヴァーでヒットした「サンディー・モーニング」の作者として知られるマーゴ・ガーヤン。職業作家である彼女は、プロデュ―サーやアーティストに曲を売り込む際、イメージが伝わりやすいようにと、実際にレコーディングされることを想定して曲をアレンジし、バックの演奏まで加えた状態で先方に渡すという、ブリル・ビルディング時代によく見られた方法を取っていた。本盤は、それらをまとめたデモ集だ。①～⑮が60年代,⑯～が70年代、そしてが2001年録音だが、その囁くような歌い方や優しい曲調はずっと変わらず。特に60年代のデモは、唯一のソロ・アルバム[テイク・ア・ピクチャー](68年)で歌われる曲も多い。クロディーヌ・ロンジェが取り上げた⑥⑫や、ちょっぴりビートルズっぽいなどの佳曲が、素朴な仕上がりにより、さらに身近に感じられて素敵だ。なお、ボーナス曲は、テディ・ランダッツォとのコンビで知られるボビー・ウエィンスティンとの共作曲。』

We are offering two CDs: the only album by American female singer & songwriter Margo Guryan released in 1968, and a collection of her demos featuring her charming husky lolita voice. Includes songs from the 60s hit "Sunday Morning" by Spanky & Our Gang to "Goodbye July" recorded in 2000. This is a high-quality soft rock album that will reaffirm her amazing talent as a songwriter. Not a rental item. Each record has been listened to only once.

Margo Guryan's only album (1968), highly regarded as a female soft rock or whisper-style female singer-songwriter. She is famous for her hits "Sunday Morning" with Spanky & Our Gang and "Think of Rain" covered by Claudine Longet, but her sweet whisper voice will make anyone into a lolita fanatic instantly fall for her. The songs that quote Bach's chorales and the songs produced by John Simon are also extremely dreamy. Four bonus tracks added. 』

'Margo Guryan is known as the writer of the hit song "Sunday Morning" for Spanky & Our Gang and Oliver. As a professional writer, when selling songs to producers and artists, she would arrange the songs as they would actually be recorded, and even add backing music to make the image easier to understand, a method that was often seen during her time at the Brill Building. This album is a collection of demos that compiles them. ① to ⑮ are from the 60s, ⑯ to 70s, and was recorded in 2001, but her whispering singing style and gentle melody have never changed. Many of the demos from the 60s were also sung on his only solo album, Take a Picture (1968). The simple finish of the excellent songs such as ⑥⑫, which were covered by Claudine Longet, and the slightly Beatles-like songs, makes them feel even more familiar. The bonus song is a co-written song with Bobby Weinstein, known for his work with Teddy Randazzo. 』
