【送料無料】で‘雨’をテーマに歌った60-70年代の洋楽(ほぼ米国)のオムニバスCDを出品致します。レンタル落ちではありません。一緒にジャン＆ディーンが1966年に発表した[SAVE FOR A RAINY DAY]をお付け致しますがこちらは台風でジャケットが雨に濡れケースにくっついてしまいましたので【ジャンク品】扱いとなります。CD盤は綺麗で問題なく試聴できます。

①は、

数々のレーベルを越えての‘レイン・ソング’の企画盤CDです。主に60～70年代を中心に選曲されていますのでオールデイズ物から70年代米国ポップスまでの主な名曲が網羅されています。欲を言えば80分まで目一杯詰め込んで欲しかったですが、P・マッカートニーのレパートリー「SEPTEMBER IN THE RAIN/ダイナ・ワシントン」や「雨に歩けば/ジョニー・レイ」、70年代までカヴァーされているのであれば「雨を見たかい/CCR」から「RIDERS ON THE STORM/THE DOORS」で閉めるなど考えてしまうのは洋楽ファンの性でしょうか。14曲目「WALKING IN THE RAIN/JAY ＆ THE AMERICANS」は1969年の曲のようですが、オリジナルはザ・ロネッツの1964年盤なのでコチラの方が…。またシーカーズでもザ・サーチャーズでも「雨を汚したのは誰=WHAT HAVE THEY DONE TO THE RAIN」も収録されれば… そうカーペンターズの「雨の日と日曜日は」も入れたいな… またこうしてみるとヨーロッパ・ポップスの方が気候上雨の歌が多いかなぁ… などとも気付きます。

そう大御所ビートルズの「RAIN」も入れなきゃ。そうなるとPPMの「EARLY MORNIN’RAIN」も。でもディランの「激しい雨」は雰囲気が違うな POPS狂の想像は膨らみます。大穴はタイトルに‘雨’がありませんが、雨の日に出逢う若い男女のことを歌ったザ・ホリーズの「BUS STOP」。

②は、

『70年以来サーフ・ミュージック/アメリカン・ポップス・ファンにとって、長年の夢であったことと言えば、ビーチ・ボーイズの[スマイル]のリリース。それとここに登場する伝説のアルバムのリリースだった。スマイルが現実化した今、２枚のアルバムを聞き比べるのも、抱きかかえるのもいいかもしれない。13曲のボーナス・トラックを含む決定盤。』付属帯ライナーより

『約9年前に初CD化された時は、売切れ店が続出するほど話題になったビーチ・ソフト・ロックの名盤が改めて再発された。録音は66年。翌年コロンビアから発売される予定だったが、その直前に中止されたせいで幻盤と化した作品だ。ゲイリー・ゼクシー作の名曲「イエロー・バルーン」をはじめ、雨を歌ったポップスが雨音のSEに導かれて並ぶ。そのメランコリックなサウンドは、夕立が過ぎるのを待つ少年の心のように少し切ない。彼らやブライアン・ウィルソンのように泳ぎ疲れた夏男は、しばしばこのような傑作を残す。』

『‘雨もの’というジャンルがあれば、真っ先に挙げられる名盤。キャロル・キング作でエヴァリー・ブラザースがヒットさせた「クライン・イン・ザ・レイン」や、ラヴィン・スプーンフル「レイン・イン・ザ・ルーフ」などのカヴァーも盛り込まれ、曲も雨に関するものばかりだ。68年に自らのJ＆Dレーベルから発売されたのだが、ジャン＆ディ―ン名義ながらも交通事故で入院中のジャン・ペリーは参加しておらず、ディ―ン・トレンスが中心となって制作されている。』

[Free Shipping] I am offering an omnibus CD of 60s-70s Western music (mostly American) with songs on the theme of 'rain'. It is not a rental. I will also include [SAVE FOR A RAINY DAY] released by Jan & Dean in 1966, but this is treated as a [junk item] because the jacket got wet in the rain during a typhoon and stuck to the case. The CD is clean and can be listened to without any problems.

① is a CD project of "rain songs" across various labels. The songs are mainly from the 60s and 70s, so it covers the main masterpieces from oldies to 70s American pop. If I could be greedy, I would have liked it to be packed to the full 80 minutes, but I guess it's the nature of Western music fans to think of closing with P. McCartney's repertoire "SEPTEMBER IN THE RAIN/Dinah Washington" and "Walking in the Rain/Johnny Ray", and if they've covered songs from the 70s, "Have You Ever Seen the Rain/CCR" to "RIDERS ON THE STORM/THE DOORS". The 14th track, "WALKING IN THE RAIN/JAY & THE AMERICANS," seems to be a 1969 song, but the original was released by The Ronettes in 1964, so this one is better... Also, if "Who Did They Done to the Rain" by The Seekers or The Searchers was included... Yes, I'd like to include "Rainy Days and Sundays" by The Carpenters... Also, looking at it this way, I realize that European pop music has more songs about rain because of the climate... And so on.

Yes, I have to include "Rain" by the great Beatles. And in that case, PPM's "Early Morning Rain" too. But Dylan's "Heavy Rain" has a different atmosphere. A pop fanatic's imagination runs wild. The longshot is "BUS STOP" by The Hollies, which doesn't have "rain" in the title, but sings about a young man and woman who meet on a rainy day.

② is, "For surf music/American pop fans, the long-held dream since 1970 has been the release of the Beach Boys' Smile. And the legendary album featured here. Now that Smile has become a reality, it might be nice to compare the two albums, or to embrace them together. This is the definitive edition, including 13 bonus tracks." From the liner notes attached to the album. "When it was first released on CD about nine years ago, this beach soft rock masterpiece was so popular that stores were selling out one after another, and it has been reissued again. It was recorded in 1966. It was scheduled to be released by Columbia the following year, but it was canceled just before that, and it became a phantom album. The album includes Gary Zexy's masterpiece "Yellow Balloon," and other pop songs about rain, led by the sound effects of rain. The melancholic sound is a little sad, like the heart of a boy waiting for a rain shower to pass. Summer men who are tired from swimming, like them and Brian Wilson, often leave behind masterpieces like this one. 』

『If there is a genre called 'rainy music,' this is the first masterpiece that comes to mind. It includes covers of "Crying in the Rain," written by Carol King and made a hit by the Everly Brothers, and "Rain in the Roof" by the Lovin' Spoonful, and the songs are all about rain. It was released in 1968 on their own J&D label, but although it is under the name of Jan & Dean, Jan Perry, who was hospitalized after a traffic accident, did not participate, and Dean Torrence was the main producer.』
